Breathe. In, pause, out. I'm so ready for a break. I'm at the risk of sounding like a broken fucking record about how miserable summer is for me, so I'm just going to skip that part this time and talk about things that bring me joy instead, like music and porn and video games. Site updates over the past month have been pretty light, but I did add a new section to the Art page for an ongoing "comic" I've been absent-mindedly drawing at work on post-it notes, which I decided to name "Monique At The Potluck". It's basically an extended vore sequence starring a bunch of random characters that aren't part of my usual lineup of post-it pinup stars, and I've been using it as 50% self-indulgent fetish art and 50% practice for drawing complex poses and camera angles and stuff. Consider it a dry run for that mysterious webcomic idea I keep hemming and hawing over! Speaking of post-it pinups, yeah I meant what I said. I'm up to several hundred of them now, but I've been pretty consistently drawing them from the same (growing) set of characters for quite some time. I've been actively maintaining them as fully fleshed out personalities, too. I originally had plans to include the names of each character on their respective Post-It Viewer page, but that's just so much goddamn work and I plain and simple haven't had the energy to do it...well, yet, anyway. Also, while I use them specifically just to draw porn and kink-related stuff, I do try to keep each character distinct from one another. For example, I make sure to never draw certain characters engaging in certain kinks, because even if that's a kink *I* enjoy, I've decided some of them wouldn't be into it. Even if it's all just fiction, it's been a fun challenge deciding who to put in each scenario I want to draw. Not sure I'll ever use these characters for any kind of bigger story or anything, but creating OCs for the hell of it is just plain fun, and I highly recommend it! I think that's it for porn-related news at the moment, so let's move on to Music. No real progress since last month on finishing up the new album, but I'm still right on the cusp of it all the same. Looking like a late Fall release, if I had to guess. Until then, I've been keeping myself busy sorting through all this new (old) music I've bought throughout the year, including that local music store haul I splurged on back in May. I'm sure teen me would be pitching a fit that I've taken such an interest in pop music I skipped out on over the years instead of eating a steady diet of obscure prog rock, but teen me can go fuck herself! Other than that, I've made exactly zero progress on other projects outside of posting Reviews. I'm glad I finally took time to write something for Motorcity; can't believe it was over a decade ago that I was originally gushing over how cool that show was. I have a lot of other "classic" Reviews I want to write - shows I watched a long-ass time ago that still resonate with me to this day, but will require extra time to rewatch and make gifs for - but I prefer to approach those only when I have a clear slate to work with first. Got a couple more current titles to follow up on before I tackle another classic, but I think I already know which one I want to dive back into, and holy shit I'm excited for that one... On the gaming front, aside from playing copious amounts of new co-op games with friends, I have been rather obsessively playing Going Under, the roguelike dungeon crawler set in a modern corporate office. For years I've wanted to play a game with that theme, walking through a call center and attacking people with keyboards and office supplies, picking up Starbucks cups for energy, tearing down the oppressive business structure and all that, and even cooler than it being an actually real game, it's REALLY GODDAMN GOOD. The gameplay is addicting and fun (though pretty challenging in the endgame), and its sense of humor is absolutely aces. 1000% recommended, easily one of the best games I've played all year! So yeah, that's about the state of things for August. Short entry this month, almost not even worth a blog update, but I've gotten used to doing about one blog entry a month, and part of me really wants to keep up this monthly format. Guess that's just the natural bass player in me speaking, but once I start getting into a groove, I have a tendency to want to STAY in that groove. Goddamn love me a good groove. So here's hoping I can keep that up too! For now though, I have to pretend I'm getting enough sleep so I can wake up and deal with the busiest work week of the year. Stay fabulous, my fellow sexy freaks!
